The Doctors at The Sheffield Clinic can perform a bespoke private health check.
This would include a detailed medical questionnaire, followed by a thorough physical examination. Some details of the examination will vary depending on sex/gender and specific requirements that may manifest themselves from the medical questionnaire.
Any investigations including blood tests, urine tests, lung function test, exercise heart test, ultrasound scans, X-rays or CT scans can be arranged.
Specific treatments can also be arranged after the medical as required e.g. private prescription, skin surgery or biopsy and joint injections.
A referral to a private Consultant or Therapist can be arranged if deemed necessary or appropriate.

Specific blood or urine tests, swabs or cervical smears can be performed at the clinic. These are sent to a private laboratory. Any skin excisions or biopsies requiring histological examination will be sent to the local hospital.
Resting or exercise ECG and lung function tests can also be performed at the clinic.

Joints that are causing pain, swelling and inflammation may be deemed suitable for a specific injection type. There are a number of different injectables available. These include steroids (cortisone), hyaluronic acid, platelet rich plasma (PRP) or a combination of these. These are all performed by an experienced Doctor at the clinic using aseptic technique. The price for the injections will vary depending on which product is used.

During your medical it may become apparent that an Exercise ECG would be appropriate. An Exercise ECG can determine if the heart is suffering from strain during exercise and whether further investigation or treatment would be deemed necessary or appropriate. Dr O'Connell has been performing this test for over 30 years and has helped many patients achieve better heart health.

As a natural course our ears produce wax on a continuous basis, some people more so than others. The body usually brings the wax to the exit of the auditory canal but in some patients the build up of wax can appear excessive and can cause hearing difficulties or tinnitus. Before attempting to remove the wax the patient is advised to put some olive oil into the air canal daily, for one week so long as it is safe to do so. Acute or chronic ear infection, perforation or chronic ear disease would be contraindications to having this procedure.
If there are any contraindications to irrigation then the ears can be gently treated by a practitioner experienced in aural toilet.

The doctor will sometimes suggest medical treatment for a newly diagnosed condition or make a suggestion to amend your current medication. In either case a private prescription can be issued. The patient will be required to pay for the price of the items on the prescription plus a dispensing fee to the pharmacist.

Women can experience very specific problems at different ages in their lifetime. The Sheffield Clinic aims to address these problems with appropriate investigations and treatments if required. Here at the Sheffield Clinic we are hoping to set up a menopause clinic in the coming months, providing a wide range of appropriate investigations and treatments including the Mirena coil.

The Doctor at the clinic has the capacity to make referrals to private Consultants or Therapists if deemed appropriate. The patient is free to pick which Consultant or Therapist they wish to see and at which facility they wish to see them at.
